This is quite the astrological info dump for you today.

Book Stuff First

As a bit of flavour, I recorded my latest book this week for audio book. This, as ever was an experience. 12 hours of talking is quite a lot of words coming out of ones mouth!

It does not take 12 hours to read the book, but every time I make a mistake I’ve got to go back and re-do that line or paragraph. And I’ve elected to use lots of old Norse, Icelandic and other languages words. So that’s an experience. You don’t get any points for spotting miss pronunciations!

One bonus from a practical point of view is that as I’ve done the book recording early, I got to spot typos. There was a ‘tune’ that should have be a ‘rune’ American readers will see it, everyone else, not so much. As the American production run has started, and the European one starts on Monday. I’m not sure about Australia. They are playing those cards close to their chest.

One exciting bit of news I have is that you get first look look at my book cover. I like it, it builds on runes made easy and goes the more cosmic route that I’m heading in with the Book of Runic Astrology.

In more energetic changes, there are some potent energy shifts coming up in the next week.

There is a changing energy brings to the end a pattern that has flowed for the last 9 months. The Skuld and Verðandi are shifting their energy. In astrology we’d call this north and south nodes. In Runic Astrology Skuld and Verðandi the Norns of The Future and What is passing. (This is not in the Book of Runic Astrology but will be in the accompanying course that I’ll launch in October/November)

This shift Starts on Monday the 17th of July, BST. But you may well have felt the echos coming. Like the need to become more you?

This shift in energy is how we travel on our paths through life. How we move towards our destiny. Since September 2022 Skuld has been resonating with Laguz. This energy helped us become deeper into healing and washing away the toxic of our lives. Focusing on what was causing disruption in our lives, and letting it be washed away by time. Let old stuck patterns be released, and look into the depts of the self and find the healing.

This path of Skuld is, shall we say, stimulated by the energy when Sunna hides from the wolf, Hati and when Manni hides from Skoll. So, look back to yourself when the sun, or moon darkened. Those dates were…

This energy change to that of Mannaz is one that brings a shift in how the path to destiny, to victory is walked. Now is the time to make sure you are working to make sure you are in the energy, the places, and the ecology that you need to be in to activate the energies you require to reach the life you require. Paths change, diverge, become uneven. This is the path forward.

If your desire, your victory, your life’s path was north… what would your next move be? This is the direction to take yourself on for the next nine months.

On Saturday, BST Freya (Venus) goes retrograde for 40 days. In my book The Book of Runic Astrology I talk about Retrogrades being wandering gods. The energies of the gods are real and vital. They are not monolithic paragons to their views. They have human desires and interests. In this case when Freya goes wandering her energy of Love, Lust, Beauty and Raging violence also becomes a little untethered. When Freya wanders she goes partying. She has all the fun she could want. Think every woman having fun stereotype you can think off. She does the booze, the boys, the shopping, the dancing, the adventure. All the things. So this is the energy the goddess of magic and blood brings for the next fourty days. And that energy is shone through the light of Ansuz, the voice of magic and communication. Aside from the last couple of days where she bring pointed insight with Thurizaz.

To bolster Freya (Venus) on her adventures and wandering Mengloth (Chiron) also begins her slow wander, at the same time.

So what to two powerful women who are supreme in their profession, path and title do? They go to Mexico and have fun.

So, Freya, with Ansuz energy, and Mengloth with Mannaz energy away from their seats of power brings us some interesting vibes from the universe.

First, we have the potential for great healing of wounds around lust, love and intimate relationships. Ex partners may appear in weird places. This is the time to let that energy go. DO NOT LIKE THE PHOTO ON INSTAGRAM!

Look to where old energies, patterns or behaviours are in you, perhaps from old lovers. This is time to let that power go. Definitely let your words be your guide here as the energies of relationships can run deep.

This wandering energy take place with a Ansuz vibe for Freya, this energy is full of pride and expression. And will probably highlight more things with your personal relationship with self than any external relationship. Scars on yourself worth, self-esteem and self-blame may well show up. It’s time to forgive yourself. Let go of shame and blame and let your courage grow. Let your voice be heard in the ways that give you the biggest pleasure. While working on your own wounds you in turn help others heal theirs.

As Freya returns to her throne, at 12 degrees of Thurizaz that shift into the penetrating and cutting energy will help you see that the drama and vocalising energy you’ve been experiencing in a clear light. It will help you process that experience, cut away what does not serve and allow you to re-visit what values you may have that do not serve you. This energy can help you find the path to strength to set yourself free.

The decisions and energy you act on during this wandering. Especially around love, lust, relationships, magic, cats, power, passion to name a few. Anywhere Freya (Venus) holds dominion, especially in relation to Ansuz, the voice, communication, and magic. Decisions for the next 40 days, will affect the next eight years. As this is how long it take for Freya (Venus) to come back to the same energy. So choose your passion wisely. Or don’t. It is passion after all.

Freya (Venus) can also changer her shape into that of a falcon, so she can travel the worlds and do what she wants too. This brings the energy of shape shifting to Freya’s wandering. Don’t be afraid to adjust how you perceive and are perceived in the world to get your needs met during this time. Modify your voice, become more seductive, or less. Use your ability to shape shift in every energy from, physical, sonic, light, vibration, ethereal etc. Use your energy in forms you want to shift to find victory.

Bling is also a, not so subtle, interest of Freya. Her Brísingamen necklace is quite literally the thing of legend. So, look to your source of bling. Namely money, cash, work. You don’t have to start an only fan selling pictures of your feet, but…. Look to where your passion is. Lean into that energy to help you build! Look to your passions that build your communications and magic. Where your language, your ability to feel others comes to the fore.

The moon is also new on Monday. With Uruz energy. So nothing big happening this week then! The growth potential right now is huge! Concentrate on how you use your energy. When stuff gets in your way look to where you can dig your heals in and push through.

Monday

Odin (Mercury) and Thor (Jupiter) are getting read for something. Odin (Mercury) in Thurizaz energy, and Thor (Jupiter) with Laguz.

Your mental limits. You are are pushing them right now, pay attention to where that is coming from. This can be great for traveling, astral or otherwise. But don’t make your plans too big. Or you’ll overextend. Don’t be overconfident, or underconfident, be like goldilocks porridge. Just right confidence. Think before you speak and look for council before making big decisions. You are valid, but do you need to speak now?

Thursday

Sunna (The Sun) and Njord (Neptune) are supporting each other today.

Take a breath, reast and relax. Enjoy yourself. Do what you enjoy today. Don’t overindulge. But do let your heart allow you to flow into your self-esteem boosting activities.

Your imagination and creativity know no boundrys, sleep with a journal to record your dreams and ideas. Maybe get in the sea? That sounds good. Be around people who fill you up.

Friday

Tyr (Mars) and Loki (Saturn) are not getting on. Tyr (Mars) with Raido energy, and Loki (Saturn) with Tiwaz.

Now is a time for discipline and endurance. Don’t try and control what’s going on, or be controlled by others. Be aware of others influence on your life. Don’t fight against it. But, do stand your ground and be confident. Do what you can and know that delays are probably going to be a good thing.

Saturday

Odin (Mercury) and Mengloth (Chiron) are supporting each other, super strong.

Your dreams and memories may well be potent right now. Keep your journal by your bed, and note the messages that come to you. You may well become aware of what you are supressing. Now may well be the time to let your emotions out of the boxes you’ve kept them in, and allow yourself to forgive and move on. Don’t forget though. Let people not be perfet and move on.
